my Call

My vocation as a Unitarian Universalist minister and an educator is rooted in a deep and joyful respect for all sentient beings, a strong sense of the interconnectedness of all things, and a call to awareness and action in the face of the racial, sexual and environmental injustices that shape our histories and the world we are struggling to bring into being.

Minister, educator, farmer, ocean lover, friend to animals.

Hi, I’m Hillary.

I am the called minister at First Universalist Church in Yarmouth, Maine. Prior to serving this congregation, I worked at boarding schools and Unitarian Universalist churches in Washington, DC, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

My experiences across rural, suburban, and urban communities have fueled my curiosity about the many creative ways people of all ages and diverse backgrounds can grow emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually together.

In the various roles I have inhabited over the years—worship leader, ministry team collaborator, religious education director, chaplain, high school teacher, farmhand—I am grateful for the opportunities I have had among very different communities and congregations to deepen and broaden my skills and my own spiritual commitments. I look forward to the continued growth, personal and collective, that lies ahead.

Take care,

Hillary
